Reliving all the pain
Writing each word to my story
Placing all the blame
Onto myself, Denying all the glory
From the One who claims my shame

Closing my blinded eyes
Searching for the peace of grace
Holding my treasured lies
Deep within, Praying for my pace
To quicken before His truth dies.

Opening myself to heal
Pleading to Him to hold me tight
Fighting for the holy zeal
Of life, to bring me the glorious light
To guide my path and help me deal

Pleasured by peace,
My eyes no longer dim.
Hope floats and I live.

Turning in my Cape

I disrobe myself. I failed.

Here is my cape,

My superhero 'M'

And my tights.

I tried to save you.

I pray for you.

For your childhood,

For your abused past to fade.

I hold you in my heart.

I will not forget.

The hurting eyes,

The desire for unrestricted love.

I will forever heed.

I loved you first.

From the first moment,

Safely wrapped in my embrace.

I cleave to the memories.

I warred for your rights.

You asked me to help,

Your trembling hand in mine.

I fought for you.

I treasured our time.

Your eyes near dreams

As I rocked you each night

I hold you, sleep.

I will remember.

All you gave to me,

All you were unable to give.

You claimed my heart.

My children, My passion, My loves, My heart.

Forget me with time,

Forget my face, my words.

All I ask is that you remember

That you were truly loved.
